Whew! I have finally wrapped up all of my holiday sessions and am now finally getting the chance to sit down and blog some of the wonderful families that I have had the pleasure of seeing this year. I have had a great time meeting new clients and seeing old ones. One of my favorite things about this time of year is getting to see how kiddos have grown since seeing them last.

I will continue to post specific families, but for now I want to give you a taste of the fun I've had in the last few months.

A Merry Christmas to all of you that have trusted me with your precious memories. Thank you for helping me grow a business that I love. May you have a happy and healthy New Year.

Pretty Pretty Mama

There is always something intimidating about photographing a photographer. It is a double-edged sword. On one hand you know that they will show up dressed in something that is going to blow you away. You spend a lot of time talking to clients about what to wear, how to accessorize and pulling it all together. You get the benefits of having this experience. You also know that a photographer knows how to look at the camera, how to angle their chin, which position is going to be your best. These are all wonderful things.....and this pretty mama was no exception. The draw back is that you also always worry that you are going to get it right. They have a pose in mind, the light that they want and their own vision. You want to do right by them.....this photographer was no exception.

Here's the gift: Tori was all things gracious and wonderful. She was calm and fun. We had a great time scoping out the right spots together. Anytime she asks, I will do it over and over again.

I think this precious young lady is wonderful. She is a beauty inside and out. I adore her family also. She comes from a strong support system and it shows in her confidence and radiant smile. We had a great afternoon together getting to know her better. She was up for anything I asked but added her flair. Thank you, my sweet girl, for a great session.

I have known these two girls for many, many years. When I met the oldest, she was just a little blonde curly haired 2 year old. Now she is a very bright 4th grader who loves soccer and is a fantastic artist. Little sister the spitting image of her mama. I love watching Dad hang with these girls, he is smitten. That melts my heart.

I had so much fun hanging with this family again. Every year I get to experience how they have grown and who they are becoming. It is a pleasure to see each of their personalities come out when I have one on one time with them. Mama has the best smile EVER! It lights up her whole face and is infectious. Big sis loves the camera and the camera loves her. Big Brother is the monkey of the house. There was not a tree that was safe, he was in heaven. Little bro is just love, sweet, sweet love. I have had the pleasure of photographing this family several times. I've said it before, one of my favorite things about doing this job is getting to know the families. I love connecting with them, watching them grow, and seeing their successes. No more evident than in this precious group. Diego is nothing short of a daily miracle. He wasn't supposed to make it through his first few days of life, he wasn't supposed to make it to see his first birthday, and he certainly defied the odds making it to his 4th. He is so wonderful. For those of you who know me well, you know I am very touchy having no personal boundries. Diego talks to me, in his way, when I get down in his face and put my hand on his chest.....makes me melt!

As if that weren't enough, I get to play with his little brother, Cristian. The curls, the eyes, the smile....melt! Crystal (mama) is one of those people that I could play with all day long. I love talking and laughing with her. Eddy is that dad that smooches on his kiddos everytime he picks them up. I love watching that. They are so strong and inspire me by what they do daily. There is nothing more powerful than the love of a parent.

We actually took these pictures in November, but as my December has gone, I am just getting to posting them now. Thank you to Karen for making her hubby and two boys come along to our shoot. I think when all was said and done everyone had a great time. I know I did!!

Boy meets girls. Boy asks girl to marry him. Boy and girl have 4 daughters. Boy gets a special seat in Heaven. The funny part is that I don't think that Phil would trade a moment of it. It was a joy to capture each of these girls. Their personalities really came through in the pictures. Mom looks absolutely fantastic.

This wonderful lady is someone who I have spent many hours with running on the canal. She is a far superior athlete than I am. She was always very patient with me when I was whinning about not wanting to do the mileage or just whinning about wanting to go back to bed. Whinning, that I am certain she is not used to because her boys are angels. She has two handsome kiddos. Sweet, sweet boys. I had a great time getting to know these boys a little better. I met this little one when she was 4 months old. She has these great parents who have waited for her for a long time. She means the world to them and it shows in everything they do. I really enjoyed photographing her the first time, the second time was even more fun. She is now 16 months old and is just as sweet. The Ponders are one of those families that you meet and think that they are the family that came with the frame you bought because surely not 4 people can all be this attractive. Two beautiful boys, a handsome husband and a knockout of a wife should be enough, but no!! They are some of the most genuine and giving people I have come across in a long time. I like them so much. This makes my job not only easy but really fun. On top of all of this gooey love, they also provided me with a photographic dream. The are friends with the family that now owns Barry Goldwater's former home. This home sits above Phoenix and allows you to soak up views and sunsets. We took full advantage of both. Beauty, Brains and Talent

My delicious friend, Marianne, turned the big 3-0 this September. To celebrate the occasion she asked me to do a session with her and her family. She is one of my favorite people in the world. She is smart, funny and has a voice given from God. She sings all over the world...literally, Paris to New York. Holiday family sessions

One of my favorite parts of the holiday season is going to my mailbox everyday and seeing what new Christmas cards I have received. It is so fun that most cards that come these days are picture cards. I think whether it is accompanied with an annual letter or not, you get such a sense of the family and their personalities. I love being the one behind the camera that gets to capture those images. With the holidays approaching, I am getting very excited to see what comes out of my camera this year.
